Allied Services Hospice is currently seeing volunteers to spend time with our hospice patients. Our companion volunteers spend time with our patients to provide companionship for both the patient and his/her family. The volunteer's visit provides an opportunity for social contact and a break from routine for the family.
We are also looking for vigil volunteers. Our vigil volunteers provide emotional support to the patient and his/her family when death is imminent. The volunteer does not provide hands-on care or offer advice, but they do provide a calming, peaceful presence for the patient and family.
A hospice volunteer is an amazing opportunity for all involved. No experience is necessary. Training will be provided.
