This is a great opportunity for a civil engineer with a current valid P.E. license from:
New York or Utah;
and with 1 year or more years experience in civil engineering to volunteer and make a positive impact in our world. Having some social/environmental justice experience is a plus but not required, as long as you're willing to accept these concepts and learn them.
SJEI is looking for a volunteer civil engineer to be a part of our Board to add their expertise, skills and act in the capacity as a civil engineer to our future impactful projects that will reflect our mission.
Having some experience working with local, state, or the federal government in your capacity as a civil engineer is a plus.
Our organization seeks to research, develop, and implement engineering practices, designs, products, and methods that promote social and environmental justice and overall sustainability. Further, we strive to educate, advocate, plan and engineer the future development of our cities, towns, neighborhoods, and farms - our planet. We will obtain our goals in a way that is respectful and sensitive, and in a manner that treats all inhabitants equally and fairly according to the definitions of social justice, environmental justice, and the ethical principles adhered to by engineers.
