Las Vegas ICO presently has a website on the Squarespace platform managed by one volunteer. We welcome fresh ideas, especially to link with with our e-newsletter that is designed on and distributed via the Sierra Club Salesforce platform. We need to better link the website to target populations--volunteers and donors.

Mission Statement

Las Vegas ICO--Inspiring Connections Outdoors introduces urban youth to the natural outdoor world so that they may forge a meaningful bond with nature and learn to appreciate its wonder and understand the need to protect it.

Description

Las Vegas ICO--Inspiring Connections Outdoors, is a volunteer outreach program of the Sierra Club, provides nature outings and wilderness experiences for underserved urban youth in the Las Vegas area. Volunteer leaders work in cooperation with community agencies and schools to provide safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences to young people who, otherwise, might not have them. ICO is seeking volunteer hike leaders as diverse as the youth we serve. We are also seeking members of the support team for leaders, including managing paperwork and recruitment of leaders among people of color representative of our typical youth participants. At this time we are preparing to restart post-Covid precautions as local conditions improve.
