Literacy Network internships can help you or someone you know:

* sharpen instructive, managerial, and communication skills
* get better acquainted with our broader community
* become better prepared for careers that have educational or international reach
* become better teacher, healthcare provider, business executive, or community leader

Our interns help Madison-area adults (many who are immigrants and refugees) who struggle with rudimentary reading, writing, spoken English, or really basic computer skills. When adults in our communities improve those skills, they can find jobs, better support their families, stay healthy, and be more involved in their children's education. The adults in our programs come from over 70 different countries and speak over a hundred languages -but all instruction is in English, so interns must be fluent in English (additional language skills are not required).

We make things very easy for interns to learn, to have fun, and to help others! Since our programs serve adults, all interns and volunteers must be at least 18yo or older. Successful interns are paid $600, and they can be college students, retirees, or professionals looking for a new experience ---anyone looking for a great way to gain valuable professional skills while helping others in the community!

Fall Semester is Sept 4-Dec 15 and the deadline for application is 7/29/2018
Spring 2019 Semester is Jan-May (dates TBA) and the deadline for application is 11/18/2018
