In addition to fulfilling all requirements and expectations of a MySahana Board Member, the Outreach Coordinator will also be responsible for a variety of duties with the express purpose of furthering awareness of the mission of MySahana.
Our ideal Outreach Coordinator will:
- Sit on the MySahana Board of Directors as an active and voting member
- Consistently represent MySahana in a positive manner in both personal and professional settings
- Work to grow the MySahana Board of Directors for both active and non-voting members
- Assist with volunteer outreach and training
- Find and create opportunities to increase visibility of MySahana
- Be primarily responsible for MySahana’s fundraising efforts utilizing a variety of mediums, including email newsletters, social media, and personal communications
- Find and organize guest bloggers for MySahana websites, and actively work to promote blogs and other MySahana literature and information via social media
- Provide and implement suggestions for strengthening and improving the volunteer program
- Make phone calls and attend virtual and in-person meetings on behalf of MySahana
- Consistently provide feedback on MySahana programs, as well work to increase awareness of MySahana training programs, workshops, and other offerings
Position Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience in outreach management in a professional capacity, particularly a non-profit setting
- Ability to commit to at least ten hours of volunteer time per month, in addition to any time commitment required of a Board member
- Ability to commit to one monthly conference call in addition to the monthly Board of Directors call
- Commitment to raising a minimum of $1,000/year for MySahana

Mission Statement
MySahana, meaning "my fortitude or patience" in Sanskrit, is a nonprofit organization designed to reduce stigma and increase awareness about emotional health and wellness in the South Asian community. Through easy-to-understand descriptions of numerous emotional health issues, educational workshops and culturally sensitive coping strategies, we hope to empower the South Asian community to realize their inner fortitude, take charge of their mental health and make better and more informed decisions for a healthy lifestyle.
Description
MySahana, a nonprofit that won the ICC Seva Award for the most innovative nonprofit, is dedicated to correcting misinformation about mental health in the South Asian community. The idea is that by providing education, South Asians can learn to recognize for themselves when to seek professional help which will create a long standing change in the community on how mental health is viewed.
To do this, we are looking for hardworking, dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic interns and volunteers to work on a wide variety of projects.
