Job Description:

  • Develop and write grant proposals to government, foundations and other grant-making organizations
  • Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations
  • Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports
  • Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage multiple proposals
  • Act as the project manager and coordinates all grant submissions

  • Grant PowerPoint persentations

Job Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in communications, education, public relations, marketing or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience with target agency. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
  • Proven track record in securing new funding opportunities a plus
  • Knowledge of advanced computer operations (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher) and ability to learn company grant software
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to produce a quality work product within tight time constraints
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Evaluate and monitor educational and information programs
  • Work under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Conduct and interpret research in a variety of data formats

1.To make Boy Scouting available to all youth, especially African-Americans

2.To provide adequate funds to ensure African-American participation in scouting activities

3.To supplement traditional Boy Scout activities with events that emphasizes African-American culture

4.To encourage African-Americans to participate in traditional Boy Scout leadership training and to sensitize scouters to the African-American experience

5.To provide opportunities for achieving skills and encourage self-esteem development in African-American Scouts

6.To publicize the activities and contributions of African Peoples

7.To promote unity in the family, community, nation, and race
