ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation

Join us at the Point Loma Native Plant Garden for a fun day of service, art, and learning! Volunteers will paint plant identification signage, benches, and planter boxes as well as assist with gardening tasks. Participants will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively and learn about San Diego native plants. This event will empower young people will help to beautify a local park space for visitors and connect with nearby nature!

This event is part of River Kids Discovery Days, a free celebration of nature, learning and volunteerism for youth and their families.

Age Recommendation: All ages welcome

The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
