The Development Manager position coordinates efforts to extend the funding base in support of Dress for Success Bakersfield’s ongoing financial needs. This will include: developing fund development strategies, cultivating and maintaining donor relations, and leading fundraising activities. This position is accountable for special events management; direct mail, email, and social media campaigns; grant writing; and public relations.
The Development Manager will work closely with and reports to the Executive Director. This position requires local travel up to 50% of the time. Personal vehicle usage is required, and mileage will be reimbursed per organization policies and procedures.

Currently the position is volunteer while we are growing the program. However, if successful you will be building funding to create a paid position. You will create your own hours. You will meet with the Executive Director regularly, but work as a "remote" office. Access to a computer is required.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications for this job include, but are not limited to: experience in fund development, public relations, or related field; proven fund development, fundraising, and grant writing skills; demonstrated communications and public speaking skills; proficiency using Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Google Drive, DonorPerfect or other fund development software. Must possess excellent prioritization and time management skills.
