York County REACT uses two way radio technology to provide community service. Opportunities include event communications at community events like fairs, parades and walk-a-thons, Emergency Communications (EmComm) in support of local government and hospitals and NWS Skywarn, NationalSOS and Neighborhood watch programs and our motorist safety program.
We are looking for volunteers in York and Adams counties in PA and Baltimore County in MD. York County REACT invites individuals and families who have a desire to serve their community to join our team. We provide training for each area of volunteer service. We have junior memberships for children 12 to 17 years old and adult memberships for ages 18 and up. Annual dues and activity insurance premiums are required. We meet monthly at the location below. Mission Statement
York County REACT provides public service communications to individuals, organizations, and government agencies to save lives, prevent injuries, and give assistance wherever and whenever needed. These services are available for support of community events as well as in emergency situations. York County REACT strives to establish a monitoring network of trained volunteer citizen-based communicators using any and all available means to deliver the message . York County REACT seeks to educate the public in the proper use and licensing of all public radio bands.
Description
York County REACT is a chartered team of REACT International, Inc. We use Citizen Band (CB), GMRS, FRS, MURS and Amateur radio to provide needed communications services. We are building a network of trained volunteer radio operators to monitor emergency frequenices and render aid and assistance wherever and whenever possible.
