Have you seen the documentary Alive Inside?? This program, similar to the one highlighted in the movie, will have volunteers assist residents on a music memory journey. Volunteers will offer music to residents, buddy listen and interact with residents, set up iTunes playlists, update play lists, and download music. The goal of this program is to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. The program has many benefits: Residents are more social & feel happier. Listening to their favorite music boosts mood, enhances cooperation, family & staff are able to connect in a more meaningful way. With residents around music & memories, family visits are more satisfying.

Description
Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (DHCI) is the largest nursing home in the State of Delaware. DHCI first opened its doors in 1933 as a statewide Welfare home to replace the county almshouses. DHCI has evolved over time from a welfare home to hospital to what it is today - a long-term care facility licensed as a nursing home providing nursing and medical care at the skilled and intermediate levels. Admission requirements include both a financial and medical need.
