ORGANIZATION: Elder Wisdom Circle

The Elder Wisdom Circle ( www.ElderWisdomCircle.org) is a nationwide inter-generational program pairing younger people in need of advice with a cyber-grandparent. We are offering a unique opportunity for an Ambassador (of any age) in your community.

The Elder Wisdom Circle (EWC) is an award winning online program providing younger people with advice on many topics such as school, self-improvement, family, relationships and much more. To date the EWC has facilitated over 420,000 one-on-one interactions and we need your help to reach 1,000,000.

Volunteers will help promote the EWC program in their local community via several easy to accomplish tasks. Volunteers must be organized, reliable, and comfortable using social media like Facebook.

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for seniors to utilize their life experience and wisdom to help others by offering thoughtful and helpful advice to younger generations

Description

We are a web-based nonprofit service organization that pairs online advice seekers in their teens, 20's and 30's with a nationwide network of Cyber-Grandparents, aged 55 to 105, who share their hard-earned knowledge and wisdom. Our Elder members participate individually from their home computers or in groups at retirement communities (with the help of a facilitator). Anyone with access to the Internet can request anonymous advice on any topic and will receive a personalized e-mail response in return. The voice of experience is hip, sincere, and highly sought after by people of all ages; we are the most popular source of free online advice in the country. The Elder Wisdom Circle has been featured on ABC, CBS, BBC, NPR, and in many publications including USA Today and Time.
