All Stars Project of New Jersey

The All Stars Project of New Jersey is celebrating 20 years of growing and building communities in Newark! Our mission is to transform the lives of youth and poor communities, using the developmental power of performance.

The All Stars Project of New Jersey has three core programs and one of them is the All Stars Talent Show Network (ASTSN)! Through the Talent Show Network young people ages 5 to 25 are provided the opportunity to produce and perform in community talent shows in their neighborhoods.

We are currently looking for volunteers to support street and community outreach when we go out into the community and invite everyone to our auditions. Talented Volunteers support the production of the auditions and the Talent Show throughout both the Spring and Summer/Fall cycles for a minimum of 4 hours per week (flexible days).

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing opportunities for growth and personal development for our inner-city youth.

Mission Statement

The All Stars Project, Inc. (ASP) is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting human development through the use of an innovative performance-based model. The ASP creates outside of school, educational and performing arts activities for thousands of poor and minority young people. It sponsors community and experimental theatre, develops leadership training and pursues volunteer initiatives that build and strengthen communities.

The ASP actively promotes supplementary education and the performance learning model in academic and civic arenas.

The All Stars Project of New Jersey was launched in 1999 in Newark and now reaches more than 2,000 young people every year through two core programs: the All Stars Talent Show Network and the Development School for Youth. In 2010, the All Stars established a new initiative: UX, a university-like development institution for people of all ages. The All Stars has partnerships with 80 corporations throughout New Jersey and hundreds of corporate leaders, philanthropists and caring adults and families have come together with young people from New Jersey's poorest communities to grow the All Stars.

In December 2011, the All Stars Project signed a lease for 9,000 square feet of prime space at 33 Washington Street in the heart of downtown Newark to establish the New Jersey All Stars Center for Afterschool Development. During 2012, preeminent architect and All Stars Project national board member, Douglas Balder, completed a cutting-edge design, and the project moved in to construction planning and build out. When it opened in March 2013, the NJ All Stars Center became an exciting new resource for Newark, and provides support for ongoing qualitative growth of the ASP's youth development programs in New Jersey.
