Habitat for Humanity of Dane County

  • 27 people are interested

ReStores of Dane County accept and sell donated items, and the money we earn builds home, community and hope. One of the reasons for our success is support from volunteers filling in traditional retail roles. Cashiers greet and interact with customers and volunteers, operate cash register, answer phone calls, respond to customer questions, assist in pricing and item pickup, and promote and maintain a safe, clean work environment. Every item sold is another item that stays out of the landfill!

We ask that volunteers commit to one shift every week, or every other week, for a minimum of 3 months.

Available Shifts: Fridays, 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm

About Habitat for Humanity of Dane County

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Through our volunteer network, generous donors, sales from our two Habitat ReStores and our dedicated staff, we're helping families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance to build a better life through shelter.

At Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, we don't offer handouts, we offer a hand up.

In Dane County, 1 in 8 people live in poverty, including 16% of all Dane County children. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity of Dane County builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes with the help of our partner families to provide affordable housing. Habitat partner families provide labor and make monthly mortgage payments on their homes at a low interest rate.
