Kindred

At Kindred, volunteers are indispensable to the patients and families we serve, and are key members of our hospice care team. Volunteers allow our healthcare professionals to devote more time to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families, as well as provide additional insight into patients' care and comfort.

We offer opportunities for individuals, community and church groups.

WHAT VOLUNTEERS CAN DO
--Visit patients in their homes or in a facility
--Provide grief and bereavement support
--Assist in administrative tasks
--Share the hospice story with the community
--Work with other community organizations

ORIENTATION
Kindred volunteers are trained in the goals and philosophy of hospice care, as well as the care and comfort of the hospice patient. Orientation sessions are held monthly at the Kindred office, or at other times as arranged with prospective volunteers.

REWARDS FOR CARING
Making an invaluable contribution to community, personal emotional and spiritual growth, and greater appreciation for life are gifts to the volunteers for their caring, compassion, and time given to hospice patients.
