The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. Foster Grandparent volunteers enroll in long term, ongoing volunteer service to provide support and unhurried help to children in classroom settings. Opportunities exist in Wayne, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties.
Volunteers serve a minimum of 15 to maximum 40 hours per week in a consistent placement. They are assigned to support specific children within their classroom setting.
Foster Grandparent volunteers earn a modest stipend for their service and are compensated for mileage to/from their service site.
Foster Grandparents must be age 55 or older, and meet income eligibility to enroll.
