Finger Lakes Living Healthy AmeriCorps matches motivated volunteer 'members' with Host Sites throughout Wayne, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties.
Members enroll to complete a 300, 450, 675 or 900 hour commitment ending on December 4, 2022.
All Members serving 675 hour terms or greater will be trained to become Peer Leaders in the empowering Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. CDSMP teaches participants healthy and effective ways to manage symptoms associated with chronic illness. These workshops will be delivered virtually via an online platform, to benefit the health and well being of members in the community and the people they are caretakers for.
Members will also have other varied opportunities to learn and grow new skills during their 900, 675, 450 or 300 hour terms.
While serving Members receive a modest Living Allowance, and upon conclusion will receive an Education Award of $3,172.
