Join our Intake team!
Briefly meet with clients at our Westmont location and update their demographic information in our database. Provide basic community resource information to them.
A 1-2 hour mandatory training is provided for this position.
Bilingual volunteers or those interested in learning Spanish or Arabic phrases are especially needed!
What would make you a good fit for this opportunity?
- You are very comfortable interacting with people from many cultures and backgrounds
- You are very comfortable typing, searching for information in a database, and navigating through tabs of information on a computer
- You are bilingual or flexible when translation services are required to communicate
- You are excited to learn about community resources
- You can commit to volunteer at least 2x/month for 12 months
- You are available during any of these shifts
- Tuesdays or Wednesdays (11am-1:30pm)
- Thursdays (4:45-7:45pm)
- Saturdays (8:15-11:15am)

Description
Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 1,500 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. And we connect people with resources--education and tutoring, jobs, technology, art, a caring community--to create a future of hope and opportunity for all.
Volunteer at PRC: Help in the food pantry or clothes closet, become a tutor, teach a class, organize a food drive, make a difference to a neighbor in need.
