Job Description
Title: Volunteer Administration Assistant
Reports to: National Fracture Prevention Manager
Background
Osteoporosis Canada (OC) is the only national organization serving people who have, or are at risk for, osteoporosis. The organization works to educate, empower and support individuals and communities in the risk-reduction and treatment of osteoporosis.
As a Volunteer Administration Assistant, you will perform a range of administrative and office support functions for OC to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. You will become accredited in Level 1 the OC Volunteer Education Training (VET) Program.
This is a hands on role that will suit a self-starter, keen to get involved with what we do, able to communicate effectively and willing to tackle a range of tasks. Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing
- Handle requests for information and data and follow up with appropriate staff member
- Handle telephone calls and written correspondence
- Assist with data entry
- Assist with other tasks as required
Standards of comportment as outlined in the Volunteer Education Training (VET) Program (Level 1) must be maintained in all interactions-internal or external.
Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
- Detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Demonstrable track record in an administrative position
Volunteer Job Conditions
- Minimum, one day per week
- Availability during office hours (Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
