We are looking for aspiring or qualified ESL teachers to work with our wonderful non-profit organization. We teach immigrant women on Fridays and Saturdays at a Community School in East Harlem. The school has donated the space for us, and many of the women are parents of their students.
The majority of the students are literacy level. They are learning their ABCs and slowly learn vocabulary and very simple sentences. Others are more advanced and can discuss situations and issues.
Non training is necessary, as we will happily give support and training throughout. You must have a genuine desire to help immigrants thrive in their new country.
We are looking to add teachers to our rotation schedule for two mornings a month. Class times are 9:30-11:30 Friday and Saturday.
There is no compensation, we are all 100% volunteers at our organization, but we are a fun group, enjoy our work and are building a real community group.
We'll work with your schedule.
