Come help feed hungry teenagers! The SUN Community School after school program at Franklin High School is looking for help prepping, serving and tracking meals we serve students. Responsible for supporting the cooking, setting up and clean up of supper service, as well as tracking meals and completing daily paperwork. Greet students as they come to eat, work with high school interns that do the majority of the food service, create positive and professional environment.
Qualifications: Must pass a background check, be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate, have experience working with teenagers, be able to work with a wide range of students from different backgrounds, cultures and languages, be able to establish healthy boundaries with students and staff, and have a positive, engaging approach to providing academic support to high school students. Have (or be willing to get) a Food Handler’s Card.
Benefits of Position: Experience working in a school setting, serving with an energetic, team, and supporting and connecting with high school students. Training on Portland Public Schools’ Nutrition Services guidelines.
Training/Resources Provided: SUN program orientation, initial SUN staff training, and supervision and consultation as needed.
Commitment: 2-4 days per week for one semester (Feb - June).
Schedule: Mon- Thurs 2:45-5:15pm
