Purpose of Position:
The Greeter/Educator will be a friendly face to all of our guests when they first walk through our doors. As a Greeter/Educator you will be responsible for interacting with our guests, answering their questions, educating guests about Tree House and proper cat interaction, bringing their questions to us when you don't have an answer, and making sure everyone gets one-on-one attention when Adoption Counselors are busy. This will allow us to reach more people and adopt out more cats by making sure that all feel welcome!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a smile
- Ask them how you can help them today and tell them what their next steps will be
- Ensure that guests on the adoption floor are connected to an Adoption Counselor
- Conduct tours when needed
- Monitor colony rooms and ensure guests are following cat interaction and shelter guidelines
- Maintain a friendly positive environment on the adoption floor
- Be excited about Tree House and adoptions!
- Other duties as needed or requested
Qualifications:
- 18+ years old
- Background in customer service or working with the public is required
- Physical ability to stand for a few hours at a time
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to talk to people for several hours while keeping a good attitude and a smile
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
Training Volunteer Will Receive:
- Overview of our adoption policies and programs
- Proper cat handling
