Join our Hospitality Team! You ensure that we are ready and prepared to care for those who come for assistance or to serve. Everyone is received just as Christ cares for and receives us because of you.

One of the ways we show our appreciation to our volunteers is by providing lunch each Thursday (the day we have the largest number of volunteers on site). Volunteers with a passion for cooking, take turns once a month, preparing lunch for approximately 40 to 50 people. We have a fully equipped, large, modern kitchen/break room where meals are prepared and volunteers/staff eat. Our ministry provides the food/supplies, while you use your creative gifts to prepare a yummy meal. We also provide the desserts. Our staff does the clean-up for you after the lunch.

Mission Statement

Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries (HCDBM) mission is to help unite and equip the Body of Christ with the food, resources, and training necessary to transform our communities and the lives of those in poverty and need through the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. This mission outlines our commitment to serving those in need in our communities. Our primarily goal is to assist struggling households by breaking the cycle of poverty. We believe that impoverished households can escape the cycle of poverty through strong, Christ-centered, mentoring relationships and access to needed resources. This initiative shifts the focus from short-term relief to creating lasting solutions and engages the community in efforts to help.

Description

HCDBM was founded as a nonprofit organization in October 2000, incorporated in June 2003, and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status on January 7, 2004. Founded by David and Agnes Hubbard, HCDBM collected and distributed food to 30 impoverished families during its first year. Over the years, HCDBM has continued to grow, offering more programs and services to an ever increasing number of clients. HCDBM moved into new facility in December 2015. The new warehouse and program offices have enabled HCDBM to expand our outreach into the Texas Hill Country. HCDBM currently serves over 1,800 individuals through the Family Mentoring Resource Program, an additional 20,000 through our Community Resource Program, and impacts the lives of children in poverty through programs that are specific to their needs. HCDBM’s service area includes eight counties: Bandera, Comal, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, North Bexar, and Uvalde.
