The Ambassador Committee members are in charge of outreach to the community and recruiting new members and volunteers to the village.
We are looking for social people who enjoy interacting with the community and are interested in volunteering with a senior-focused nonprofit organization. Time commitment can vary per individual, with one meeting per month (1 to 1.5 hours) with other committee members, and occasional outreach events, depending on availability of the committee members
The Program Committee is responsible for planning and organizing activities for the members of NOV.
We are looking for people who can assist in the activities hosted by North Oakland Village. Time commitment can vary based on availability of committee members and the number of activities they want to be involved with. Potlucks are once a month, and duties would be limited to sending out/managing signup sheets and opening and closing the facility, no extensive setup or heavy lifting required.
North Oakland Village is part of the national Village-to-Village movement, a nonprofit that creates community, engagement and support for seniors aging in place. We are looking for a volunteers to help us during our continued growth. We strive to impact positive change on the local level in the City of Oakland and to help develop an Aging Friendly City.
