If you are a college student and you are looking for an internship or service learning experience we have an opening at this time with our Caregiving & Aging Services Program.
Students are matched with a child/teen with a disability so that their caregiver can get a much-needed break.
What skills will I gain?
Understanding the role and challenges a caregiver's faces.
A better understanding of a disability the child may have.
A diverse experience.
Helping skills.
Maintaining good boundaries
Time management
Family systems.
Self care in the profession of helping/supporting others.
Self-awareness of personal strengths and weakness.
Leadership/supervision.
Communication.
and many other skills that will be useful in your professional work as you move forward in your education and career.
We are able to set up an internship experience for evening or weekend hours at this time. Day hours are available during the Summer months as well.
Male and female interns are needed throughout Washington County in cities such as Cottage Grove, Oakdale, Woodbury and Stillwater.
