You will be managing a station during the workshop where you will roleplay an assigned role pertaining to consumerism and the financial world. For example, you may be assigned to be a car dealer and instructed to persuade students who come to your station to buy a car, while the students must be decide how to best manage their money. There will be a short training led by State Employees Credit Union employees so that you will know what to do at your station.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Description
Please Note: We typically do not have access to students over the summer months; therefore, individual volunteer placements for School/Reading Buddies, Tutors, or Mentors are made from September through the end of March each school year. While you may complete our Volunteer Interest Form at any time, please keep this Sept-March timeframe in mind if you are interested in one of these volunteer roles that is matched to an individual student
Communities In Schools believes all students deserve five basic resources: A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult; A safe place to learn and grow; A healthy start and a healthy future; A marketable skill to use upon graduation; A chance to give back to peers and the community. Communities In Schools is part of the nation's largest stay-in-school network helping young people continue their education. Some of the challenges students face include family conflict, poor self esteem, drug and alcohol abuse, juvenile crime, illiteracy, poor health, and teen pregnancy.
