ORGANIZATION: FIRST of the Great Lakes Bay Region

POWER UP 2018

These volunteers safely run the equipment in the event’s mobile machine shop to make repairs or modifications to parts for teams’ robots during the competition to enable them to continue to compete. Machine shop equipment includes a drill press, band saw, belt sander, saws, drills and other hand tools. Previous experience with these tools/equipment is required for this role.

Description

The vision of FIRST Robotics is "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders." FIRST of the Great Lakes Bay Region is the local non-profit organization what was created to assist and support the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) member teams i n the Great Lakes Bay Region (GLBR) of Michigan. The GLBR is comprised of: Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties in the State of Michigan. In addition to supporting FRC member teams, FIRST of the GLBR also assists and supports FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Lego League (FLL) member teams located in the GLBR.
