Join us at the Nisqually Land Trust's Lackamas Flats protected area for a morning of pulling English ivy!

As a ground cover, English ivy harms native plants by forming a dense "ivy desert" where other plants can't grow. It can also climb and strangle native trees. By controlling the invasive ivy at Lackamas Flats, we can help to re-establish healthy forest in this area of the Nisqually floodplain.

The Nisqually Land Trust acquires and manages critical lands to permanently benefit the water, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed.

Description

The Nisqually Land Trust is a non-profit organization that acquires, maintains, and restores important lands along the Nisqually River to viable habitat for salmon and other wildlife.

It was established in 1989 to protect wildlife habitat threatened by the consequences of rapid population growth. Today it conserves and restores over 5,000 acres throughout the Nisqually River watershed.
