Are you passionate about education? Jumpstart welcomes volunteers interested in promoting the importance of early literacy! Jumpstart is happy to partner with the Pacoima Branch Library to host our second community literacy celebration. Volunteers can look forward to reading with young children and facilitating fun educational activities based on the children's book A Letter to Amy.

About Jumpstart Southern California
Location:
1625 W Olympic Blvd. Ste. 1050, Los Angeles, CA 90015, US
Mission Statement
Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
