Job Summary

We are looking for a competent Administrative Assistant to provide personalized secretarial and administrative support in a well-organized and timely manner. You will work on a one-to-one basis on a variety of tasks related to executive’s working life and communication.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as the point of contact between the Film Festival Director and external clients
  • Undertake the tasks of receiving calls, take messages and routing correspondence
  • Handle requests and queries appropriately
  • Arrange meetings and appointments and provide reminders
  • Produce reports, presentations and briefs
  • Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system
  • Anticipate the needs of the Film Festival Director
  • Will report to Film Festival Director

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as an executive administrative assistant or in other secretarial position
  • Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficiency in English
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Up-to-date with advancements in office gadgets and applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • High level verbal and written communications skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • High School degree; additional qualification as personal assistant would be considered an advantage

Mission Statement

The primary objective of the festival is to showcase Black filmmakers locally, nationally and internationally, while creating an opportunity to network with various people in the filmmaking community. CBIFF will highlight a spectrum of stories told by people of the African Diaspora. Filmmakers will have access to workshops and panels discussions during the film festival. Throughout the year CBIFF will host film screening events and mentorship programs catering to filmmakers in central Ohio to assist in navigating resources to tell their stories using film.

Description

The Columbus Black International Film Festival conducts an annual 3-day film festival screening 30 films, featuring 2 workshops and guest speakers and various networking opportunities for filmmakers locally and nationally.
