An application is required before placement and a minimum commitment of one 2 hour shift a week is required. The Auburn Avenue Research Library is the first public library in the Southeast to offer specialized reference and archival collections dedicated to the study and research of African American culture and history and of other peoples of African descent. Volunteers are needed to assist at the Welcome Desk to share more about the resources and exhibits. The library is open 7 days a week, so shift are available daily.

The mission of the Fulton County Library System is to serve as a cultural and intellectual center that enriches the community and empowers all residents with essential tools for lifelong learning.
Description
The Fulton County Library System is the largest library system in the state of Georgia. Volunteers serve at all 34 locations. The System provides a variety of literacy and community information services and programs for citizens in and around the Metropolitan Atlanta area. These services include, but are not limited to: providing audio, visual and print media for check-out by registered patrons; providing programming that reflects the diverse interests of area residents and visitors, and providing meeting areas for community discussion and interaction.
