Destiny’s Daughters of Promise is a Georgia-based, nonprofit organization whose mission is to mentor and train young girls. The organization was founded with the goal to strengthen the fundamental components needed for young women to excel in leadership and basic life skills. Destiny’s Daughters of Promise is committed to providing programs and opportunities for teen girls that would help them excel in leadership, community involvement, education, and personal growth and development.

The Governance Committee is responsible for the overall affairs and enhance the engagement and participation of Board. This would include:

  • To prepare priorities and an annual calendar for board work

  • To meet with prospective board members and recommend candidates to the board

  • To recommend and train officers

  • To oversee Board orientation and ongoing Board development, including formalizing the description of criteria for Board membership, establishing job descriptions for Board members and committee leadership, creating a board member contract with the agency, considering term limits and establishing a Board self-evaluation process
