Who Are We:
Accelerator YMCA is the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. We serve nearly 5,000 youth, young adults and their families throughout the county each year in social services including: behavioral health, foster care and young adult services (i.e. housing, education, employment and violence prevention).
What We Need:
We are looking for non-perishable food items to be donated to our programs. These food donations help us operate a food pantry in our Young Adult Resource Center and create snack packs for participants. They will be directly used by the youth and young adults served by our organizations. See the following list for suggested food items:
- Fruit snacks
- Granola bars
- Peanut butter and other nut-based butters
- Boxed pasta (i.e. Mac & Cheese)
- Nuts (assorted)
- Peanut butter and other cracker packs
- Microwavable soups (i.e. Ramen)
- Snack packs (i.e. chips, crackers)
- Canned foods (i.e. chili, vegetables, soups)
- Sports drinks and juice pouches (i.e. Gatorade, Capri Sun)
- Rice
- Bottled Water
When:
We are accept donations on an ongoing basis.
Who:
Anyone is welcome to this opportunity! It is ideal for volunteer groups!

The Y Social Impact Center offer services at dozens of program sites in Seattle and King County, building stronger community as part of the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s family of branches and camps. Since 1973, the Y Social Impact Center (formerly Accelerator and Metrocenter) has been a catalyst for sparking young people to build self-confidence, resilience and hope, and to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
The Social Impact Center provides a full spectrum of programming that engages young people from different socioeconomic backgrounds and life experiences. 40 years and counting, the Y continues to provide innovative opportunities for youth to become healthier, make better choices, participate in life-changing leadership experiences, and create stronger communities.
