This position is responsible for identifying and recruiting potential individual donors, corporate sponsors, and breakfast table captains, as well as helping to retain those already supporting the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration (MAVA). Works directly with the Membership and Fund Development Manager


  • Help to uncover and develop core stories that describe MAVA's mission
  • Use personal networks to identify people who need to hear that story
  • Invite these people to attend Point of Entry Events
  • From those who attend Point of Entry Events, identify and recruit Table Captains
  • Aid Fund Development Manger in developing annual breakfast program
  • Aid Fund Development Manager with correspondence after breakfast program
  • Co-host Giving Society gatherings with Fund Development Manager
Skills Needed:
  • Must be an avid supporter of MAVA's mission
  • Must be able to tell MAVA's story in a compelling fashion
  • Must be willing to "evangelize" on MAVA's behalf
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have an interest in fundraising

  • Gain experience and knowledge of the Benovon Model of fundraising
  • Gain experience and knowledge of the "Complete Storytelling System" for fundraising
  • MAVA members receive 50% discount on following year's membership
  • Non-MAVA members receive first free 1-year trial membership

Time Commitment:
  • Approximately 5 hours/week (work can be done remotely) plus one task force meeting per month
  • February through October with an option to renew for the next year
