ORGANIZATION: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Doggy Daze volunteers help to relieve stress by providing a break between treatments. While hospitalized, patients are separated from their pets at home. This program allows St. Jude patients a unique experience with a man’s best friend.

All Doggy Daze volunteers must first be certified by Pet Partners, Intermountain Therapy Animals, orTherapy Dogs Incorporated. Proof of certification, as well as up to date animal vaccination records, will be required. Handlers and visiting dogs will meet with Child Life personnel and Doggy Daze Liaison prior to beginning volunteer orientation for temperament and observation of pet.

Doggy Daze volunteers must also complete the St. Jude volunteer orientation process.

Doggy Daze schedule program schedule:

  • Outpatient areas every 1st through 4th Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with no visits on 5th Tuesdays.
  • Inpatient units on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
