CHS is looking to recruit translators to volunteer during client sessions. These sessions, which include auditory verbal therapy, hearing device services and more, are vital to our clients and our community. In these sessions, if we cannot translate, we cannot operate.
Each client session lasts from 30 - 90 minutes during our clinics business hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Volunteers set their own weekly schedule.

Location:
3636 West Dallas, Houston, TX 77019, US
Mission Statement
The Center for Hearing and Speech enables hearing and speech impaired children and adults to realize full potential providing them with listening, speaking and literacy skills.
Description
The Center for Hearing and Speech (CHS) is the only full-service resource in Houston, and one of only three in Texas, that teaches children with mild to profound hearing loss to speak rather than use sign language.
CHS provides services for children from infancy to age 18, as well as for their parents, within three areas: the Melinda Webb School, the Audiology Clinic, and the Speech-Language Pathology Clinic. CHS's teachers, audiologists and speech pathologists use the latest technology and most up-to-date teaching techniques to help every child succeed and gain independence.
