As a nonprofit organization that is newly founded and just starting out, there are minimal funds. But we don't want this to be a barrier to serving the children of our community through toy lending services, so we need you, the volunteer, to help us run our library once it is opened up in April, 2018. Optimally, we would like to have at least 5 volunteers throughout each day to help with checking out/in toys, sanitizing toys, ensuring the safety of the environment, signing up new members, and other duties of Texhoma Toybrary. Volunteers can sign up for one time help, or sign up for an ongoing dedication. Volunteers can sign up for as many hours, or as few, as they are able to legitimately work.
A good match for this volunteer opportunity would be someone who enjoys being around children and their parents, someone with kindness and compassion for others, and someone with patience.
Should be someone with a clean record and history of honesty and integrity.

About Texhoma Toybrary
Location:
3111 Midwestern Pkwy, Space 940, Wichita Falls, TX 76308, US
Mission Statement
Mission: To serve the local community through toy lending services and open play spaces in a safe, friendly environment where children of all abilities can come together.
Description
Vision: Texhoma Toybrary will provide a space where children approximately ages 0-10 can come and borrow various toys for a set length of time and return them to check out new items. Additionally, families are welcome and encouraged to come and open play with large items in addition to any items available. Parents can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or talk with other parents while the kids play in a safe environment. The types of toys offered would be sensory and developmental with a selection of adaptive toys for differently-abled kids. These would include indoor and outdoor toys, as well as board games.
Over the next three years we aim to become a staple support to families in the local area. We will strive to contribute to the community through social functions, networking, and reinvestment of funds into continually building and developing new strategies to meet childhood development needs.
We plan to be a member of the USA Toy Library Association and are proud members of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce.
