About

Girls Inc. of the Central Coast is looking for Volunteer Women Mentors

to work with high school girls in our leadership mentoring program.

Beginning next school year May 2018-May 2019

ECHO Leadership Mentoring Program

ECHO is a leadership/mentoring program for high school sophomore and junior girls. The program is designed to encourage these girls to pursue post-secondary education and plan for future careers. The sessions are designed to inspire them to value themselves and their dreams, to develop an action plan to achieve their goals, and to begin seeing themselves as leaders.

This program is designed to:

  • Encourage girls to pursue post-secondary education and plan for future careers
  • Increase self-empowerment
  • Reduce the school drop-out and pregnancy rates among young women
  • Promote goal setting
  • Increase self-esteem
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Increase knowledge of women's health
  • Increase knowledge on legislative bills

Location where volunteers are needed:

  • Alisal High School, Salinas
  • Soledad High School, Salinas
  • Greenfield High School, Greenfield
  • King City High School, King City
  • Seaside High School, Seaside
  • N. Monterey County High School, Castroville
  • San Benito High School, Hollister
  • Pajaro Valley High School, Watsonville

  • 2 time a month from 5:15pm-8:00pm
