Project Connect will be held on April 5, 2018 from 1:00-6:00 at the D & N Event Center, 501 East Walker Rd, North Platte. Project Connect is a one-stop event to connect individuals and families in need to a wide variety of immediate on-site services and support. Between 30-40 local agencies and organizations will be present to provide services and resources to an anticipated 150 or more people.
Volunteers are needed in these capacities:
- Greeters - Welcome individuals, hand out Intake forms to participants, match participants to navigators, refer questions to the Project Connect committee. Three are needed for each shift.
- Navigators - Navigators will be paired with individuals or families to guide them through the Project Connect experience. Navigators will accompany participants to desired services, help with recordkeeping, and help participants locate the Exit area before leaving. 25 navigators are needed for each time shift.
- General Assistors - Assistors may be helping service providers as needed, serve as runners to help Navigators and others locate answers to questions, help with clean-up as necessary, and be available to help in other capacities as needed. Three are needed for each shift.
Two training sessions will be held-April 4 from 3:00-4:00 or April 5 from 11:00-12:00. Volunteers must attend one of the training sessions. Shifts will run from 12:30-4:00 and 3:30-6:30. A free lunch will be provided from 12:00-12:30.
Also looking for agencies who provide services and resources to those in need, to participate in Project Connect.

The North Platte Area Ready to Serve Volunteer Program (RSVP) strives to fulfill two main objectives in North Platte and Lincoln County. To engage volunteers of all ages to serve the community. To address the current and future needs of North Platte and the Lincoln County area.
Description
The goal of the program is to promote the use of volunteers as community resources in coordinating and enhancing service to meet community needs. Achievement of RSVP’s mission is facilitated by the coordinated use of the resources provided by the City of North Platte and the community.
RSVP also strives to:
Provide a multi-dimensional and practical approach to solving community needs.
Realize the full potential of volunteers willing to share their experience, wisdom and skills to meet the significant needs of our community.
Provide opportunities for community and volunteer involvement and support in the development and operation of the RSVP program.
Cooperate with agencies and organizations involved in the field of volunteerism.
Develop a sound, locally coordinated volunteer program with continuing community interest and support.
