We are looking for a versatile dance coach, with formal training in multiple genres, to coach a girls' hip-hop majorette dance team for students in grades K to 12 in New York City.
Starting in March, the position will operate on Saturdays (time open) and will run throughout the school year. Practice will be held for three out of four Saturdays. If the program is successful, we will explore a summer program. Dance location is being solidified in Manhattan (28th Street area).
Strongest preference will be given to candidates who have formal training in ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz and lyrical who can work with a variety of ages at one time. Candidates will have to audition (or show us a tape of them teaching or performing). Candidates selected for the role will ultimately have to undergo a background check.
Candidates should also be available to audition potential girls on Saturday, March 3rd from 2pm to 6pm in Manhattan.
To apply, please send a resume and a cover letter which fully explains your formal dance training and any teaching experience that you have. We will consider candidates who have training, yet no teaching experience and will also accept candidates who have extensive training but is not specific to majorette dance.
