The Center for Contemporary Art is looking for a Camp Intern to work with the Education Director, Office Administrator, and instructors during the summer art camp program.
Essential Job Functions
The Camp Intern I will be responsible for:
- Supervising a rotating group volunteer camp aides each week
- Overseeing camper lunch periods and organizing games/activities to keep kids engaged
- Ensuring schedules are adhered to and children/volunteers know where they are going
- Organizing weekly exhibits of campers’ artwork and online portfolios
- Assisting instructors with tasks as assigned
The Camp Intern I may also be responsible for:
- Keeping an inventory of all supplies and communicating with the Education Director when items need to be replaced
- Assisting in the classroom if camp aides are absent
The ideal candidate will be:
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Education/Art Education preferred but not required Responsible, self-motivated, and flexible
- Outgoing and a dedicated team player
- At least 18 years of age
- Experienced in working with children ages 5-15
- CPR/First Aid certified preferred but not required

Description
The Center for Contemporary Art is a vibrant regional art center with studio art classes, a summer art camp, rotating exhibitions and community outreach programs.
Art classes for children and adults are offered in painting (oils, acrylic and watercolor), ceramics, pottery, drawing, pastels, photography and more. Exhibitions of contemporary art are presented in three galleries, as well as annual members’, international juried and youth art month exhibits. Outreach programs bring art experiences to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, at-risk youth, seniors, adults with disabilities and people affected by cancer.
The Center is located in a fully-accessible facility in Bedminster, Somerset County in Central NJ with convenient access to routes I-78, I-287, and 202/206.
