Volunteer English Teachers Needed in Honduras

Volunteers hike in SPS
Three of our volunteers and director went for a hike outside of San Pedro Sula.

Native or near-native English speaking volunteers are the best way for our students to gain fluency in English. We find that passionate volunteers, with or without prior teaching experience, make great teachers because they grow to care about their students and work to create dynamic classes that engage students. This is a method of teaching that is largely absent in the Honduran education system. Our volunteers are housed in a shared volunteer house 5 minutes walking from the school with AC and wifi, and we offer our volunteers a $50 USD stipend each month to help with expenses.

About Garden School Victoria

Location:

Carretera Occidente, frente de Brisas del Valle, Brisas Del Valle, Cortes 21104, HN

Mission Statement

Through offering high-quality bilingual education from native and fluent English speakers from all over the world, we hope to help break the cycle of poverty in our community. Many of our students want to learn English to help better the lives of their families in the future, as well as better their communities and their country. We have students with big dreams and we hope to help them achieve those dreams. We offer volunteers the chance to be immersed in the community and actively work to help create brighter futures for our students.

Description

Garden School Victoria is located in the small town of Brisas del Valle, Honduras. Our students come from the surrounding towns and mostly come for a lower socioeconomic level. The GSV team works to teach English to these kids so that they can pull themselves and their families out of poverty. English speakers can get higher paying jobs that can support a family. Our volunteers are housed in a shared volunteer house 5 minutes walking from the school with AC and wifi, and we offer our volunteers a $50 USD stipend each month to help with expenses.
