Did you know that reading aloud to a child just 15 minutes every day is one of the most important things you can do to help prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond? However, less than 50% of children in this country are read to every day.
Join Oakland Family Services as we work to bridge the gap and ensure that our preschoolers have the language and literacy skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
We are searching for individuals and corporate groups who are interested in coming in to our preschool classrooms to read to our preschoolers. You have the option of bringing in a book of your choice, or you can select from the books we have in the classroom.
The available time slots for reading are 9:30 am or 3 pm, Monday's through Thursday's. Please sign up early to secure a date and time for yourself and/or group!
*Release and waiver will be required for anyone willing to have their photo taken for marketing purposes.
