Job summary

The National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP) is looking for a talented Copy Writer to join its Marketing team. The Copy Writer will play an integral role in composing efficient and compelling information for membership access as well as stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be driven by developing new ideas for various audiences, is passionate, experienced and self starter with exceptional storytelling, and editorial skills, to define and execute digital content strategy/vision. As a member of the marketing team, collaborates with communications team in building a website by creating and engaging content for all digital channels (including websites, emails, blogs, social networks, etc) to drive awareness and site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for writing and editing content for the NAAHP's Monthly Digital Newsletter
• Work in tandem with other departments of NAHHP to write and edit creative content for the NAAHP's Digital Newsletter, creative materials, etc.
• Maintain the right tone of voice and understand our target audience thoroughly (Haitian, Haitian Americans primarily)
• Excellent command over the English language
• Expert writing skills, editing, and proofreading abilities
• Capable of studying and analyzing data from a broad range of disciplines (i.e. Health, Science, etc) and drafting content as they relate to our target audience (Haitian, Haitian Americans primarily)
• Maintain the right tone of voice and understand the target audience thoroughly.
• Work in tandem with other departments of an organization to write and edit creative materials for promotions, direct marketing (email, newsletter), advertisements as well as website content, etc.
• Implement best practices for content creation, reuse and optimization.
• Correspond with web master to oversee website changes
• Correspond with social media manager to oversee social media pages

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years related experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

• Experience with developing KPIs, dashboards, and benchmark reports to measure content engagement success.
• Excellent storyteller, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Must be comfortable working within a startup environment subject to ambiguity and change.
