Member Duties : One (1) Full-time and four (4) Half-time AmeriCorps members assigned will serve as Youth Program Assistants responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination and supervision of youth programs and school activities/events at the Senator Frank R. Lautenberg Full Service Community School (Paterson Public School #6) with the goal of providing academic support and enrichment opportunities to students and the community. Students range from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Program Benefits : Health Coverage , Childcare assistance if eligible , Stipend , Training , Education award upon successful completion of service .

AmeriCorps is the domestic version of the Peace Corps. AmeriCorps Members dedicate one year of their life to serve communities throughout the United States that are in need. For this year of dedication, individuals earn a living stipend, education award, and more! SPCDC AmeriCorps Members serve in all aspects of the agency's work. Duties range from working in the SPCDC Food Pantry, case management in our homeless men's shelter, and mentoring students in after school and summer programs throughout the City of Paterson, NJ.

SPCDC offers its members different benefits based on a member’s level of commitment.

*Summer-Time Members commit to serve 300 hours (approximately 35-40 hours per week).

Position Type: Summer-Time

Volunteer Hours to Complete: 300

Bi-weekly Financial Stipend: $462.20

Total Stipend Amount for the Summer: $2,311.00

Educational Award: $1,222.00


*Access to NJSCNCS Trainings, Professional Development Workshops, & Access to AmeriCorps Alumni Resources

*Participation in FREE End of the Year Trip to Washington D.C

Service Description : New Destiny Family Success Center (NDFSC) was established as a grassroots initiative in 2005, partnering more than 75 community leaders, concerned citizens, and local government agencies interested in strengthening families and building an accessible network of support. The Mission of the agency is to: Outreach to the general population in the Greater Paterson Community offering services and support networks which address triggers leading to undesired or harmful behaviors within families, between families, and in the community. Family Engagement and Support is the cornerstone of our mission.

St. Paul's Community Development Corporation (SPCDC) is a secular, not-for-profit organization, guided by a diverse and voluntary board of directors that bridges racial, economic, geographic and religious boundaries.

Our purpose is to alleviate the conditions of hunger, homelessness, unemployment, under-employment, poverty and illiteracy in the City of Paterson. We do this by providing emergency services to all in need and by designing long-term approaches to achieving social and economic improvement at the grassroots level.
