Make a difference in someone's life. It only takes a few hours a month! Help low-income elders and disabled adults stay in their homes. Volunteer opportunities may include 1) driving clients to the grocery store or medical appointments, 2) running errands and going shopping, 3) lending a hand with housework, 4) yard work, 5) minor household repairs, 6) cutting and/or delivering wood for heating, 7) assisting with moving/packing, and 8) providing help with necessary telephoning, reading and writing. VCS provides assistance to those who cannot afford to pay for the kinds of services we provide, do not qualify for assistance elsewhere, or do not have family and friends available to help them. Volunteer interests and availability are matched with screened clients throughout Pierce County. Volunteer privacy is protected. Clients never call volunteers. Clients call the VCS.
