POSITIONFundraising Specialist (w/track for Fundraising Director)

Works with Globe Talk team to create fundraising strategy and manages its implementation (Time Commitment: 7-9 hours/week)


1-1.5 hours: Core Team Meeting + Working Session

5-6 hours: Fundraising Co-Director responsibilities

1-1.5 hours: Alternative Team Meeting responsibilities*


*provides an opportunity to strengthen alternative business-oriented skill sets on projects with other core team members not directly related to day-to-day responsibilities (ex: developing portal content, performing a client needs assessment)


    1. Responsible for developing fundraising strategy to raise funds
      1. Creates detailed monthly and yearly plans that detail how funds will be raised; this will include week-by-week timeline of responsibilities
      2. Sets short-term and long-term fundraising goals
    2. During lag periods when execution of fundraising projects is not possible or as high-yield:
      1. Identifies grant-based sources of funding
      2. Presents and implements proposal outlining fundraising strategy specific to grants (i.e. which types of grants are the best fit, would be most likely to get, how many we should apply to per quarter, HR support requirements, etc.)
      3. Develops and manages a database of grant opportunities
      4. Writes grants to acquire funding; creates and manages resources for future recruits to learn grant writing skill set
      5. Records and tracks performance of grant submissions
      6. Manages finances of organization; keeps detailed account of transactions and all donations made
      1. May research, find and reach out to potential individual donors, companies, or businesses (i.e. corporate sponsorship opportunities)
      2. Serve as a point of contact/liaison between donors and organization
      1. GRANT BASED WORK:
      2. CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP:
    3. Multi-tasks and executes fundraising projects outlined in the fundraising plan which may include but are not limited to:
      1. Reaching out to and coordinating with local businesses for partnerships, profit shares, goods sales
      2. Creating promotional material related to the event
      3. Marketing the event
      4. Executing the event, may coordinate other Globe Talk team members
      5. Putting all the money raised into our bank account
      1. Creating, managing and marketing a Globe Talk crowdfunding platform
      2. Implementing fundraising events (e.g. profit shares, goods sales, etc.) which may include any of the following:
      3. Managing specific fundraising campaigns (e.g. having staff members ask for donations from family and friends)
    4. Manages quality assurance metrics of past fundraising performance; analyzes results and presents them to the management
    5. Keeps track of incoming and outgoing expenses
    6. Leadership skills, multitasking skills , marketing and organization skills required ; fundraising proficiency/experience highly recommended
