The Sierra Club Tree Team is looking for volunteers who can coordinate with Oakland residents whose preferred language is not English. This position would involve translating forms and promotional materials into other languages (mainly Cantonese, Mandarin, or Viet; for now we have plenty of Spanish translators), and occasional interpretation and communication with customers who do not speak English. In past years, only a few requests have come from non-English-speakers, but the presence of a translator/interpreter on the Tree Team might encourage more in the future. This position does not require travel around Oakland, but translator may prefer to visit customers and communicate face-to-face.

The San Francisco Bay Chapter is the local branch of the Sierra Club, America's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization. The Bay Chapter is comprised of the nearly 40,000 Sierra Club members who live in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco counties.
The Bay Chapter has a rich and vibrant history of environmental leadership going back to our founding in 1924. We have played a big role in shaping the Bay Area that you know and love.
