ORGANIZATION: Elmcor Youth and Adult Activities, Inc

Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities is one of the largest non-profit community-based service agencies in Queens, serving youths, young adults, seniors and more. Our Food Pantry has been in operation since 1970 serving the Corona/East Elmhurst and neighboring communities. We operate a client choice style food pantry and are proud to provide fresh and healthy foods to our community.

A wonderful opportunity for you to help those in need by assisting customers in our food pantry.

  • Provide quality customer service to those needing our assistance.
  • Organize , sort and stock food items, including coats, books etc.
  • Greet clients , check in current clients and register new clients using the plentiful app.
Skills Needed: Great Communication Skills and personable demeanor. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift. Comfortable speaking basic Spanish. Patient and Flexible.
Hours: Wednesdays 10:00 am- 2:30 pm

Description

Elmcor Youth and Adult Activities, Inc. has been an influential and motivational force within the communities of Elmhurst, Corona and Jackson Heights since 1965. To cater to its ever changing social and economic status, programs were created including afterschool tutoring/homework assistance, sports and recreation, arts and culture, senior centers, day care, substance abuse services, employment readiness, etc. Today, Elmcor has been firmly rooted in the community for over 40 years and continues to flourish and become one of the largest non-profit community based agencies in the borough of Queens.
