Volunteer Orientation for Reading Program and Puppy Sitting.
Reading Program Volunteers
Power Paws will visit five (5) Title 1 schools (Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix) each week to allow children to read a story to one of our canines in training. So far, we visited three (3) schools once time a week for an hour. But with the demand for the Reading Volunteers, two (2) other schools in Phoenix have asked to be added to our list.Power Paws needs a pool of volunteers to select one of the five (5) schools and become a dedicated part of our program. Each week at-risk readers are given the undivided attention of a canine-in training in a nonjudgmental environment. T he Reading Volunteer can travel directly to the school or meet us at Power Paws and travel over as a team. Each week we will need about 20 volunteers to help us with our Reading Program.Volunteers can select one of sites and meet there only once a week for one (1) hour.
Puppy Sitter
Puppy Sitter help our volunteers that foster our puppy through training over a 16-month period. Puppy Sitter are short term volunteer opportunities that can last one hour, one day, one week or maybe a month. Each Puppy Raiser need a break from time to time. So consider this opportunity to help other volunteers that play a vital role in helping us raise and train our pups. This is also a great opportunity to learn about being a Puppy Raiser through a short term commitment. .
