About THE PETE FOUNDATION AND PETEFEST MUSIC FESTIVAL

Location:

2323 LIME KILN LANE, LOUISVILLE, KY 40222, US

Mission Statement

The Pete Foundation seeks to instill a culture in which dialogue surrounding depression and anxiety is met with understanding and acceptance by providing services and experiences for adolescents, and funding research to better understand the nature of silent suffering. We envision a world in which suicide attempts are eliminated because depression and anxiety are detected and addressed starting at a young age. Our annual community event is PeteFest Music Festival, which aims to raise funds and awareness for mental health advocacy while providing a fun, exciting, thought-provoking, and truly inspiring experience for all. In addition to spreading the love and appreciation of music, culture, art, and community through local artists and businesses, PeteFest focuses on environmental conservation and outdoor recreation.

Description

We are a team of vested individuals volunteering to empower today's youth, eliminate suicides, and remove the stigma surrounding mental health. We think creatively to design projects and initiatives that carry out our mission, and we work hard to impact our community to the fullest possible extent, through public events, media outlets, education, arts, and advocacy. We collaborate with local and national organizations to bring the fight against suicide to Louisville and beyond. We are in need of volunteers to help with project management and execution, run the non-profit, and help plan for and host the annual PeteFest Music Festival.
